KLICKITAT RIVER REPORT 8/24/16

River is in Good condition and fishing well:  Both the swing and nymph are worthy.  Tips and dry lines. Classics and Intruders, Stones and Egg patterns....Pretty much the ticket!

YAKIMA RIVER REPORT

Little tougher lately.  Water temps have been 66-72 degrees lately depending on where you are in the system and time of the day.   Based on the Bureau of Reclamation gauge, which is admittedly not completely accurate.  Regardless,  a little warm.  

Oxygenated waters have been key for nymphing...#12 and 14 Classics have been the ticket recently with the #8-10 Stone nymphs taking a third place.  

Dry flies on hopper banks and in the last hour with Caddis.

There have been a lot of recreation floaters and cliff jumpers lately.....Stay clear of them or the may end up in your boat looking for a beer or falling from the sky.

YAKIMA RIVER REPORT - 8/10/16

Overall the Yakima has been pretty darn good.  Water temps have been ranging between 61 and 68 depending on time of day and stretch of river.  

MVP's have been the Pats Stone, Streamers, Dave's hoppers, Small Chubbies and the select Caddis rendition in the evening in isolated locals.

River Clarity today,  8/2/16, is significantly better then yesterday...... 10AM below town.

Currently a little rough...... Image below was taken @ 5PM near the town of Klickitat o August 1.  Not much of a cycle lately.

YAKIMA RIVER REPORT - 7/29/16

The river is fish reasonable, considering the heat. Low light time frames are your best.....mornings and evenings. Water temps in the Upper River below the Cle Elum confluence are ranging from 59-63.  Water temps in the Lower Canyon are ranging from 62-68. 'Little warm' in the Lower Canyon.  Not a bad place to fish early in the day and get off mid afternoon.  Mr Weather shows reasonable weather coming our way with highs in the low to mid 80's and cool night time temps.

Summer Stoneflies, Caddis and Hoppers are the main fare.  As usual at this time of year, the Upper Canyon (East Cle Elum to Thorp) dinner plate can be a mixed bag of delights.....Ants, leaf hoppers, beetles, bees etc...

UPPER COLUMBIA RIVER REPORT - 7/24/16

Remarkable hatch season on the Upper Columbia this past 2 months.  Currently the fishing is limited to a very short window based on waning hatches and the heat.  We are looking forward to the Fall Season....should be fantastic.
